Canadian artist Bruce Repei has worked in professional theatre as a Scenic Designer and Head Scenic Artist for nearly 30 years. His work credits include 30 productions on Broadway, as well as productions of THE LION KING (Toronto and Los Angeles), MAMMA MIA (Toronto and US), LORD OF THE RINGS (Toronto and London), THE PRODUCERS (Toronto), CIRQUE de SOLEIL, Paramount Theme Parks and Princess Cruise Lines. Throughout the years, he has also worked in national and regional theatre companies across Canada including Stratford, The Canadian Opera Company, The National Ballet Company of Canada and The Atlantic Theatre Festival.
He now pursues his own painting at his studio in the James Street artists neighbourhood in Hamilton, Ontario. He works in oils, watercolour and acrylics. In earlier years, he taught stagecraft and scenic art at the college level and currently teaches painting classes and workshops.
He is a native of Hamilton, Ontario Canada and has spent most of his life living in the area of the Niagara Penninsula farmlands as well as in Hamilton and Toronto. His wife Alice Repei is a business woman and they have two daughters Lauren and Suzanne.
